Judith Coombe and Kathryn Thompson met at the South Australian School of Art where they were studying to become art teachers. Their mutual love of flowers, old lace and antique needlework led to the establishment of their business Judith & Kathryn Designs, which in 1998 won the Australian Craft Award of Excellence for the contribution they have made to the Australian needlework industry. Judith & Kathryn design and manufacture a range of products inspired by the elegant Victorian era - an age of romance and extravagance. Their silk prints, hand-painted bread dough baskets and embroidery embellishments, hand-coloured lace, ribbons, roses and kits are suitable for use in silk ribbon embroidery, machine embroidery, crazy patchwork, quilting and beading. Both the novice and the experienced needleworker will find products to inspire and delight. Although the business is based in Adelaide, South Australia, Judith & Kathryn do not have a store. Instead they have a hectic schedule attending craft and needlework shows in Australia, Canada and the United States and this is where their products are sold, and where their workshops and seminars are conducted. They also love to share their beautiful embroidered samples at trunk shows. If you are interested in attending or hosting a trunk show in the US or Canada, please
